A Wahiawa man suspected of robbing three Central Oahu banks was released after posting $50,000 bail early this morning.
John D. Olivas, 27, of Wahiawa, was charged with three counts of first-degree robbery and then released on bail at 2:15 a.m., according to the Honolulu Police Department arrest log.
He is scheduled to make his first appearance at Honolulu District Court at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police arrested Olivas on North Cane Road in Wahiawa Thursday morning.
Police believe he robbed the Mililani American Savings Bank branch twice — on Tuesday and on Feb. 2 — and the American Savings Bank branch in Wahiawa on Jan. 24.
The suspect in Tuesday’s robbery was wearing a white hat, bright yellow and orange safety vest, and slippers, demanded money and fled on foot at about 9 a.m. A man wearing similar clothes robbed the American Savings Bank Wahiawa branch on Jan. 24.
