School Street between Nuuanu Avenue and Aala Street will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Tuesday while Mira Image Construction completes repairs to to School Street.
A sink hole two weeks ago caved in a portion of School Street near the intersection of Nuuanu Avenue.
Tonight, the contractor will perform touch-up work inside the manhole and reinstall the manhole, chimney frames and covers to match the new pavement surface elevation.
Motorists will need to take alternate routes to the H-1 freeway. Message boards will be up at School/Nuuanu and Vineyard Boulevard advising motorists to detour to Vineyard Boulevard and to use Aala Street to get to the H-1 westbound onramp.
