Store guards detain Kapiolani shoplifting suspect
A 33-year-old man was arrested last night after taking something without paying for it from a Kapiolani area store and then tried to flee from security guards.
Police said the man concealed merchandise on himself and attempted to leave when he was approached by security. He fled but was captured a short distance away on Kapiolani Boulevard about 10:53 p.m.
He is being held pending a charge of second-degree robbery.
