Kaukonahua Road crash kills 40-year-old driver
A 40-year-old man died yesterday from injuries suffered in a head-on crash on Kaukonahua Road in Waialua.
Police said a motor vehicle driven by the man crossed the center line of Kaukonahua at about 5 p.m. and crashed into a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old man.
The 40-year-old man was taken in critical condition to Wahiawa General Hospital, where he died.
The 56-year-old was taken in serious condition to the Queen’s Medical Center.
Police closed a section of Kaukonahua between Kiekonea Way and Hukilau Loop. It was reopened about 3 1⁄2 hours later.
Man sought in sex assault of child arrested in isles
A man wanted in Texas for sexually assaulting a child has been apprehended in Honolulu.
The U.S. Marshals Service says Celso Rodriguez-Huerta was found yesterday at a residence on Kewalo Street. Rodriguez-Huerta is wanted on a Texas warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14.

Feds capture drug suspect
A fugitive wanted on a federal drug conspiracy charge has been captured on Maui.
The U.S. Marshals Service says 31-year-old Brackston W. Moores was arrested Tuesday night at Spreckelsville Beach in Paia.
A Marshals Service spokeswoman said Moores was being sought on a warrant issued in Alaska and is accused of possessing and distributing a drug called fentanyl, a powerful prescription painkiller.
