Civilian Army employee in Honolulu wins award
HONOLULU — A civilian employee with the Army Corps of Engineers is to receive a Pacific Asian American award.
The Corps of Engineers Honolulu district office says Kris Young is to receive the Federal Asian Pacific American Council’s Excellence in Individual Achievement award.
She receives the award at a national training conference in Washington state next month.
Young is the executive administrative assistant to the chief of the engineering and construction division.
She is an Oahu native who joined the Honolulu district in September 2009.
Officials describe her as having a strong work ethic and being an avid volunteer.
