Grandson released in fatal beating

An 18-year-old Kalihi man was released by police last night in connection with the fatal beating of his 79-year-old grandfather, police said.

Police arrested David Hernandez III Monday night. He was originally booked for investigation of attempted murder. Hernandez continued to be held yesterday on a burglary charge in connection with a different case.
