Anyone still here after tomorrow, let’s party!

In case anyone has missed all the buzz about the big day tomorrow, May 21 is the date predicted by Harold Camping for the end of the world.

Those who follow this particular eschatologist (apocalypse predictor) will be making preparations, but most others will be shrugging or mocking the prediction in some way.

We wouldn’t be surprised if some here find their way to a Big Island lava shelf overlooking the sea near Keauhou for a little Saturday cliff-diving, a favorite pastime at this locale.

And why not?

The popular name of the place is, after all, "End of the World."

Yes, this year’s neighborhood board elections are coming to a close tonight at 11:59 p.m., and are largely being done online.

Voters without Internet access can vote via phone or at Honolulu Hale and Kapolei Hale.

Voters should have been mailed a secure passcode about the time voting began late last month; the digital ballot is found at the Neighborhood Commission’s website, http://www1.honolulu.gov/nco/.
