Keeaumoku woman charged in robbery of older woman in elevator
A 50-year-old Keeaumoku area woman was charged Tuesday with robbing a 79-year-old woman of her belongings in an elevator.
Betty Robinson, of Amana Street, was charged with second-degree robbery and assault on a law enforcement officer. She remained at the main police cellblock tonight in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Police said Robinson confronted the older woman in the elevator of the Pacific Grand, their apartment building, about 7:35 a.m. Tuesday and grabbed the woman’s belongings.
Robinson fled, but was stopped by patrol officers. While being detained, she assaulted a 24-year-old police officer, causing pain to his face, police said.
