Prosecutors charged a 40-year-old homeless woman Sunday with robbing a Chinatown bank.

Debbie L. Yxcot made her initial appearance in Honolulu District Court on Monday.

Police arrested her 11:10 a.m. Saturday at a Hauula beach park after officers responding to an argument call identified her as the Chinatown bank robbery suspect.

Yxcot allegedly demanded money from a teller 10:16 a.m. Friday at the Chinatown Bank of Hawaii at 101 N. King St. and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Prosecutors charged Yxcot with first-degree robbery.

According to state online records, Yxcot has no prior felony convictions in Hawaii. Yxcot, also known as Debbie Louise Johnson, was convicted for three petty misdemeanors: April 25 and Sept. 17, 2002, for prostitution, a petty misdemeanor, and of liquor in public, also a petty misdemeanor in 1999.
