Hawaiian Electric Co. is urging the public to use caution when celebrating Fourth of July with fireworks.

The company advised Monday that fireworks be set up and used in an area clear of overhead power lines.

Fireworks are not to be strung on utility poles.

Metal ladders or pole should not be near power lines.

Any ladder, pole or tie lines used to set up fireworks should be at least 10 feet away from power lines.

Overhead power lines are energized and could be dangerous.
