Good Samaritan turns into robber in Waikiki
An alleged robber who supposedly started out trying to help his victim was arrested Tuesday in Waikiki.
Police said the suspect, 43, helped a man, 35, push his stalled car near Waikiki on the afternoon of March 13. The suspect then supposedly asked the victim for money to get his truck out of a tow lot, police said. The victim gave the suspect some money and drove him to a gas station, police said. The suspect then demanded more money and, when the victim refused, threatened him with a gun, police said.
On Tuesday, the victim spotted the suspect walking in the Waikiki area, police said. Police were called and the Mililani man was arrested on Koa Street at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.
