Fire causes $3M in damage to Hanalei hotel restaurant
A fire Friday at a restaurant at the Hanalei Bay Resort caused an estimated $3 million in damage, a Kauai County spokeswoman said today.
A Kauai County news release said the fire was reported at 5:21 p.m. and was contained to the restaurant, which was closed for renovations.
Firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames.
Eighteen firefighters brought the blaze under control by 7:15 p.m. No one was injured.
Investigators were searching for the cause of the fire.
