Aston drops rates for ‘50 Days’ sale

Room rates at Aston hotels will fall for travel between Aug. 1 and Dec. 21 during "50 Days of Aloha."

The special is aimed at early vacation planners who book from July 11 to Aug. 29.

The rates are:

» Oahu: From $84 per night (interior room, Aston Waikiki Beachside Hotel).
» Maui: From $89 per night (standard garden view, Aston Maui Lu).
» Hawaii island: From $159 per night (one-bedroom ocean view suite, Aston Kona by the Sea).
» Kauai: From $79 per night (garden view, Aston Aloha Beach Hotel)

Play golf again for decreased fee

POIPU, KAUAI » Golfers who schedule two rounds of play in a 10-day period at Poipu Bay Golf Course will get the second round for a reduced rate.

The "Second-Round Rate" is $115 through Dec. 31. The course continues to offer its "Second-Round/Same Day" rate of $55 for golfers who want to play the course a second time in one day.

Learn to weave pandanus leaves

WAILUKU, MaUI » The Bailey House Museum is offering a six-week lau hala weaving class Wednesdays this summer.

The classes will be taught by kumu Pohaku Kaho‘o­hanohano, who has been teaching weaving for 17 years.

The classes are scheduled for July 13, 20 and 27 and Aug. 3, 10 and 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $60 for members of the Maui Historical Society and $65 for nonmembers.
