Homeless man is arrested in robbery
A 43-year-old homeless man has been charged with second-degree robbery stemming from an incident with another homeless man in Chinatown on Friday.
According to police, Anthony Constante confronted the victim, who was in a tent, and demanded his property. When the victim refused, Constante allegedly assaulted the man and rummaged through his belongings.
Constante was located, identified and arrested the same day. He is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Visitor injured after crashing mo-ped
A visitor from Texas is recovering from minor injuries following a mo-ped crash in Lihue on Friday.
According to Kauai police, the 19-year-old woman was turning out of a car rental lot onto Haoa Street when she apparently lost control and hit a curb. She sustained minor injuries to her face and shoulder and was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital for treatment.
