» Gov. Neil Abercrombie has recognized 26 Hawaii high school students who participated in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles in May. Four of the students received international awards and were among 1,500 students from around the world who competed for more than $4 million in awards. The four ISEF winners were Travis Le of Punahou School and Kang-YingLiu, ShawnalynSunagawa and Sara Middendorf of St. Andrew’s Priory. Sunagawa and Middendorf each won $1,000 in shares of stock from United Technologies Corp. for their project, "Polygonal Airfoil Wind Turbine, the Greener Future." Le and Liu each won fourth-place awards in their categories, which included $500 in cash.
