Woman allegedly assaults best friend over money problems
A 37-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly assaulted her best friend over money problems in Makaha.
Police said the Makaha woman has been best friends with the 41-year-old woman for 13 years and got into an argument with her Sunday morning over their financial issues.
The argument escalated into a fight and the younger woman hit her friend numerous times with a cell phone and an ipu, the Hawaiian percussion instrument made from a gourd, police said.
Officers located the younger woman about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and arrested her on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault.
