The Hale Koa Hotel and the J.W. Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina resort will host the most important events during November’s Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, the White House announced today.

President Barack Obama will host APEC, the premier economic forum in the Asia-Pacific region which will bring the heads of state from 21 world economies to Hawaii. APEC economies account for 54 percent of global gross domestic product, 44 percent of world trade, and 61 percent of U.S. goods exports.

The APEC 2011 Leaders’ Reception and Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 12, will take place at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki. On Nov. 13, APEC Leaders will meet at the J.W. Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina.

The Hawaii Convention Center will play host to Ministerial and Senior Officials’ meetings, as well as house the international press file center, according to the White House.

The Leader’s Meeting, and the four meetings leading up to it, could bring as many as 20,000 government and business leaders, their family and friends, and media to Oahu from Nov. 7 to Nov. 13.
