Registration started this week, and contest entries will be accepted starting Wednesday. For complete rules, visit www.cbs.com/shows/hawaii_five_0/ultimate_fan. The contest ends Aug. 19.

Ward Centers turns into dog’s paradise

Ward Centers, the only Oahu shopping center that permits leashed pets on property, has scheduled special events and sales Sunday for pet owners and other folks.

From noon to 3 p.m., at Ward Warehouse, shoppers can pamper their pooches with $5 doggie washes and massages that benefit the Hawaiian Humane Society. That same day, The Pet Corner is sponsoring a "Krazy Pet Trick Contest" at 1 p.m. The store also will host a variety of pet-product vendors.

A photographer will be available at Eden in Love/The Wedding Cafe at Ward Warehouse to take pet photos with a qualifying purchase, and customers who donate $10 to the Humane Society will receive a 20 percent discount. Other merchants will be offering "doggone deals," and shoppers who present same-day Ward Centers merchandise or dining receipts totaling $50 or more will receive a $5 Dairy Queen/Orange Julius gift certificate, while supplies last. Receipts can be redeemed at Island Slipper at Ward Warehouse and Crazy Shirts Outlet at Ward Centre. For more information, visit www.WardCenters.com.
