Talk discusses eating meat

Learn about all things kalo
Listen to experts and meet farmers at Waimea Valley on Aug. 13 for the fifth annual kalo workshop. Running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the event will include breakout sessions and tours of the park’s kalo gardens, plus be kalo pounding and tastings. To register, call Jenny Yagodich at 638-5859.
Tickets on sale for Taste at Kapolei
Now in its 12th year, Ko Olina’s Taste at Kapolei, slated for Sept. 10, will feature the cuisine of more than 20 restaurants.
The event will include tasting tents from such venues as Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Romano’s Macaroni Grill, while a tiki-themed VIP section will include a margarita bar from Just Tacos and signature dishes from Don Ho’s Island Grill, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and chef Sean Priester.
Taste at Kapolei, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kapolei, is a scholarship benefit for college students who hail from West Oahu.
