Man killed in Kalanianaole crash is sixth motorcycle fatality
The man killed in a crash on Kalanianaole Highway on Monday was the sixth motorcyclist to die on Oahu’s roads so far this year.
There were also six motorcycle fatalities for the year on Aug. 8, 2010, while there were 11 through Aug. 8, 2009, police said.
The latest victim was identified by city medical examiners as Richard Grover, 54, of Honolulu.
Police said Grover’s Honda was traveling westbound on Kalanianaole near Kalani High School about 10:45 a.m., when his motorcycle struck the rear end of a stopped car at the Laukahi Street intersection.
