The trial for the accused 28-year-old freeway shooter has been rescheduled for Oct.10.

Toby Stangel, who is accused of killing a Palolo mother of 10 and injuring two others two months ago during a 17-minute freeway shooting spree, was supposed to go before Circuit Judge Glenn Kim Aug. 15.

However, his attorney this week asked for an extension and the trial is now slated to begin Oct. 10.

Stangel entered a not guilty plea  June  14 to 20 counts including murder, attempted murder, firearms violations and drug possession for the freeway shooting that occurred from Kaimuki to Aiea early in the morning of June 3.

He is accused of killing Tammy Nguyen, 54, injuring two others and firing at police officers on the H-1 freeway.
