Ewa Beach drunken driver assaults officer, police allege

A 51-year-old Ewa Beach man was arrested Sunday night for allegedly assaulting a police officer who had stopped him for a traffic violation in Kapolei.

The officer suffered minor injuries following the 6:35 p.m. incident on Farrington Highway near the Kapolei Regional Park, police said.

The suspect was arrested for alleged assault of a police officer, drunken driving, having an open container of alcohol in his car, reckless driving and driving with out a license.
