» Hofstra junior Kylee Maneja (Sacred Hearts ’09) surpassed the 1,000-dig mark in her career, recording 25 in a four-set victory over Siena (N.Y.) on Monday. Maneja also served an ace, and freshman Kainoa Ocasek (University ’11) had five digs and an ace for the Pride. Sophomore Taylor Akana (Kamehameha ’10) had a team-high 12 kills, two solo blocks, five block assists and 10 digs for the Saints, who got a team-high 21 digs from junior Lesli Akeo (Kamehameha ’09).
» Texas senior Sydney Yogi (Punahou ’08) had 10 digs, an assist and an ace, and sophomore Sarah Palmer (Hawaii Baptist ’10) chipped in three digs, two block assists and an ace as the Longhorns opened the season with a four-set victory over Pepperdine on Friday in the Burnt Orange Classic.
» Syracuse senior Ashley Williams (Kamehameha ’08) had 18 digs, two assists and an ace in a five-set victory over Youngstown State on Saturday in the title game of the Big Orange Tournament.
» Georgia Tech freshman Ali Santi (Punahou ’11) was named to the all-tournament team in the Courtyard Marriott Classic that ended on Saturday. Santi had 41 assists and 14 digs to help the Yellow Jackets defeat Louisville in five sets to win the tournament title. Santi had 46 assists and nine digs in a win over Kansas State on Friday. Junior Kuulei Kabalis (Kamehameha-Hawaii ’09) had 11 digs and a kill for the Wildcats.
» Oregon State senior Dre Shaw (Kamehameha-Maui ’08) recorded her second double-double of the season, finishing with a team-high 15 kills and 13 digs in a five-set loss to Gonzaga to wrap up play in the UniWyo Wyoming Invite on Saturday.
» Boston College senior Brennan Clark (University ’08) was named to the Active Ankle all-tournament team on Saturday. Clark finished with 15 digs, four assists and an ace as the Eagles lost to Florida and Auburn.
» UTEP setter Malia Patterson (Punahou ’10) finished with 38 assists, six digs and a kill to lead the Miners to a four-set victory over Texas-Arlington and a perfect 3-0 record in the El Paso Sports Commission Volleyball Invitational that ended on Saturday.
» Cal State Northridge sophomore Mahina Haina (‘Iolani ’10) put down a career-high 28 kills to help the Matadors pick up their first win of the season, beating Weber State in five sets on Saturday. Haina hit .468 in 47 swings, adding three digs and one block assist.
» San Diego sophomore libero C’era Oliveira (Hawaii Baptist ’10) had a team-high 18 digs as the Toreros finished 3-0 in the Fresno State Classic with a three-set sweep of the Bulldogs on Saturday.
» San Jose State junior Alex Akana (Kamehameha ’09) had a team-high eight block assists, a solo block and four kills to help the Spartans beat Arizona State in four sets on Saturday at the ASU/Sheraton Classic. Setter Caitlin Andrade (Kamehameha ’09) had 48 assists, eight digs and six kills and senior Brianna Amian (Moanalua ’07) had three kills and a block assist for the Spartans.
» Pacific (Calif.) senior Rebekah Torres (Kamehameha ’08) had 10 digs, five assists and an ace, and sophomore Koala Matsuoka (Kamehameha ’09) had four digs, two assists and served seven straight points in the second set of a three-game sweep of Southern Utah to win the Crystal Inn Thunderbird Invitational title on Saturday. Sophomore Alissa Youart (‘Iolani ’10) had seven kills, nine digs and a block assist for the Thunderbirds.
» Loyola Marymount senior defensive specialist Diana Hiromoto (Punahou ’08) finished with seven digs and an ace as the Lions opened the season with a four-set victory over Cal State Fullerton on Friday.
» St. John’s junior libero Ashley Asing (Moanalua ’09) finished with 16 digs in two matches to help the Red Storm open the season with two wins in the hurricane-shortened Kristen Dickmann Invitational on Friday.
» Fairfield (Conn.) senior Haililani Pokipala (Sacred Hearts ’08) finished with eight digs, two assists and two aces, and freshman Carsen Mata (Moanalua ’10) had nine digs and three kills as the Stags closed the Cal Molten Classic with a five-set loss to UC Riverside on Saturday.
» Bryant (R.I.) University junior Macy Mitravich (Sacred Hearts ’09) was named to the all-tournament team in the West Point Invitational that ended on Saturday. Mitravich totaled 70 digs in three matches, including a team-high 17 in a four-set loss to Army.

» Loyola Marymount senior Brittney Sanford (Punahou ’08) drew a foul in the penalty box and converted the resulting penalty kick for the go-ahead goal as the Lions opened the season with a 3-1 win over Texas on Aug. 19. On Friday, Sanford and Erin Rementer (Punahou ’08) scored second-half goals to help LMU pull away for a 3-0 victory over Long Island (N.Y.).
» UCLA freshman Caprice Dydasco (Kamehameha ’11) recorded an assist in her first collegiate game, helping the Bruins defeat Cal State Northridge 2-0 on Aug. 19. Haley Chee (Kalani ’09) came off the bench for the Matadors.
» UNLV sophomore Courtney Botelho (Kamehameha ’10) scored a goal off the bench in the 61st minute to help the Rebels defeat UC Riverside 3-0 in their season opener on Aug. 19.
» Northeastern forward Lahaina Zoller (Punahou ’11) scored her first collegiate goal in the 23rd minute of a 2-1 victory over Connecticut in the season opener for the Huskies on Aug. 19.
