Police open arson investigation into fire at Keeaumoku Walmart
Honolulu police have taken over the investigation into a fire in the men’s clothing department of Walmart on Keeaumoku Street early Sunday morning.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said the fire broke out at 12:45 a.m. in the men’s clothing area. Workers used a dry chemical fire extinguisher to put out the fire and firefighters ventilated the store with fans.
A fire investigator determined the blaze was deliberately set and turned the investigation over to police, Seelig said.
The fire caused about $10,000 damage, officials said.
