A 37-year-old Kunia man was in custody after hitting a woman with a metal baton and terrorizing her over two days, police said.

The man was arrested at his home at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of kidnapping, two counts of second-degree assault, and two counts of abuse.

The man and woman were in an argument that escalated into a fight about 8 p.m. Aug. 13, police said. During the fight, the man hit the woman on top of the head with a metal security wand and also hit her on the face, arms, and chest, police said. The woman sustained a cut to her head.

For two days, the man terrorized the woman, holding her against her will, assaulting her, and trying to strangle her, police said.
