»When the state Department of Transportation signed power purchase agreements with Hoku Solar in September 2008 the negotiated rates were lower than utility rates. A Page D1 story Sunday said negotiated rates were higher than utility rates. DOT officials explained that although utility rates did drop significantly in 2009 after the agreements were signed they rose back above the PPA rates in 2011, a trend that is expected to produce long-term savings for the department. The online edition has been corrected.
