Prep fb: No. 6 Campbell beats Kapolei 29-13

Jason Kaneshiro

The Campbell offense provided the Sabers with an early lead.

The defense took over from there.

The turnover hungry Sabers swiped seven takeaways to help power the sixth-ranked Sabers to a 29-13 over Leeward-side rival Kapolei on Friday night at the Hurricanes’ field.

Sabers safety Jaelan Subia-Etrata accounted for three turnovers with two interceptions and a fumble recovery, and contributed to the scoring with a third-quarter field goal.

Senior Joshua Torres also had a pick, set up a second-quarter score with a 39-yard punt return and returned a fumble for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
