Weekly honor to UHH’s Hurley
Senior middle Hillary Hurley earned the PacWest’s weekly honor for helping the Vulcans go 1-1 last week. She averaged a conference-leading 7.12 kills and 7.50 points per set with 57 kills, six block assists and 30 digs.
Honor roll
» Shih Ting Chen, BYUH: The freshman middle had 17 kills, an ace and four block assists in the Seasiders’ sweep of NDNU.
» Ying Chun Chen, BYUH: The freshman setter had 41 assists in the sweep of the Argos.
» Lauren Hagemeyer, BYUH: The junior hitter had 13 kills, four block assists and a solo for the Seasiders.
» Kyra Pelayo, HPU: The senior libero had a conference-high 22 digs in the sweep of NDNU.
» Crystal Powell, CU: The senior hitter out of Word of Life helped the Silverswords go 1-1. She had a combined 35 kills, two block solos and five block assists.

Bukoski earns weekly honor
Hawaii Pacific senior forward Chance Bukoski earned the conference’s player of the week honor after he figured in all three goals of the Sea Warriors’ 3-1 win over Hawaii Hilo.
Bukoski also scored the game’s first goal in a 3-1 victory at Academy of Art.

» Heimana Chene, HPU: The senior forward scored three goals in two wins for the Sea Warriors.
» Josiah Holtz, BYUH: The junior goalie stopped all four shots on goal in a 2-0 win over Chaminade.
» Bent Jenson, BYUH: The sophomore forward scored the game-winning goal over the Silverswords.
Women’s honor roll
» Sanoe Souza, HPU: The junior midfielder out of Kamehameha finished with three points as the Sea Warriors went 1-0-1. She scored a goal in HPU’s win over Academy of Art and was credited with an assist in a 1-1 tie with the Vulcans.
» Yasmina Taketa, HPU: The senior forward from Kalani had a goal and an assist for the Sea Warriors. She scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over Academy of Art.
» Shannon Wright, CU: The freshman midfielder scored both goals in a 7-2 loss to Grand Canyon.

BYUH’s Krout named runner of the week
BYU-Hawaii senior Lacey Krout was named the PacWest women’s cross country runner of the week after winning Saturday’s BYUH Invitational.
Krout finished the 5-kilometer course in 18 minutes, 45 seconds in helping the Seasiders to the team championship.

» BYU-Hawaii: Senior Katherine Buxton was second to teammate Krout, finishing in 18:59. Also contributing to the Seasiders’ team victory were junior Kassie McGonical (fourth, 19:15); freshman Katrina Kropushek (sixth, 19:53); junior Kelsey Royer (eighth, 20:14); and freshman Veronica Camarillo (13th, 21:18).
» HPU: Senior Kim Kuhnert was third (19:13), junior Mary Botsford fifth (19:49) and freshman Shannon White seventh (20:08) to help the Sea Warriors take second at the BYUH Invitational.
» UHH: Freshman Nadia Ramirez was 11th overall (20:57) to help the Vulcans place fourth at the BYUH Invitational.
Men’s honor roll
» BYU-Hawaii: Led by junior Spencer Deavila, the Seasiders won the team title at the BYUH Invitational. Deavila was second overall with a 26.58 on the 8K course. Other Seasiders in the top 10 were sophomore Matt Belliston (third, 27:00); junior Nick Jones (fourth, 27:04); junior Justin Royer (sixth, 27:40); and freshman Yuki Kitahara (seventh, 27:44).
» HPU: Senior Dany Malley won the BYUH Invitational with a 26:44 on the 8K course. Senior Jon Cleghorn was fifth overall (27:10) to help the Sea Warriors take second.
