Hawaii-Hilo in third at tournament
Hawaii-Hilo’s Jamie Hall shot a 1-over 72 on Monday and is tied for fourth place in the St. Martin’s Invitational golf tournament at the Olympia country Club in Olympia, Wash.
The Vulcans (303) are in third place, behind first-place Dixie State (296) and Cal State Stanislaus (300).
Dixie State’s Nick Drost is the individual leader at 1-under 70.
Rainbow Wahine in tie for ninth
The Hawaii women’s golf team is tied for ninth place at the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore., following Monday’s first two rounds of play.
The Rainbow Wahine’s Ka‘ili Britos (74-81) and Erika Lundberg (77-78) are tied for 21st place at 11-over 155.
Long Beach State leads the tournament at 21-over 597, with UH at 632. The 49ers’ Rochelle Chan is the individual leader at 2-under 142.
The tournament concludes with the third round today.
BYUH ties Grand Canyon in soccer
Bent Jenson scored his fourth goal of the season in the 50th minute to give Brigham Young-Hawaii a 1-1 tie with Grand Canyon in men’s soccer on Monday in Laie.
Jenson’s goal came on a pass from Brett Waters.
Saeed Robinson’s sixth goal of the season gave the Antelopes (4-2-1, 1-1-1 Pacific West Conference) a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute.
The Seasiders are 5-0-1 and 1-0-1.

Goalkeeper Stephanie Phillips made six saves for the Antelopes (3-3-2, 2-0-1 PacWest) and Megan McCain came up with five saves for the Seasiders (4-0-1, 1-0-1).
Harvey captures senior golf title
B.B. Harvey played the back nine in 2 over par to win the Hawaii State Women’s Golf Association Senior Championship on Monday at the Hawaii Kai Championship Course.
Harvey’s 7-over 79 was two shots better than defending champion Mira Han.
There were 98 players in the tournament, which is open to golfers 50 and older. Of those 98 golfers, 17 were in their 80s and played in the championship flight.
Maxine Davis won that flight, shooting 94. Florence Miyasaki, 88, captured low net honors. The 22-handicapper shot 95.
Other flight winners were Grace Wilson (85) in the A flight, Terri Lui (84) in B, Cathy Watanabe (80) in C and Han (81) in D.
Fundraiser for boxer Wednesday
A fundraiser will be held for U.S. Olympic boxing team hopeful Lisa Ha on Wednesday at Pearl Ultra Lounge.
The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. and the cost is $15 at the door.
Proceeds will fund Ha’s trip to Toledo, Ohio, to fight in the PAL nationals, which runs Oct. 1-8 and is the last qualifier for the Olympic Trials in February.
