Gov. Neil Abercrombie ordered Tuesday that U.S. and Hawaii flags be flown at half-staff at state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Friday in honor of Hall of Fame swimmer Keo Nakama and former state legislator Lisa Naito.
Abercrombie earlier said flags would be flown at half-staff Thursday for former lawmaker and judge Katsugo "Kats" Miho.
Nakama died Sept. 8 at age 91. He is best known for being the first person to complete a verified swim across the Kaiwi Channel from Molokai to Oahu in 1961. He was enshrined in the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1975. He served in the Hawaii Legislature from 1964 to 1974.
Services will be Friday at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation is at 5 p.m. with services at 6.
Naito died Sept. 18 at age 76. She served in the state House from 1974 to 1978 and later worked as a social worker. Services were held Tuesday.
Miho, a native of Maui, died Sept. 11 at age 89. He served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II. In 1959 he was elected to the state House of Representatives and served five terms. He later served eight years as a Family Court judge.
Services will be held Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation begins at 3:30 p.m., and the service starts at 5 p.m.
