Maui-based Aloha Motorsports will observe the grand opening of its Kaanapali EagleRider Harley Davidson rental franchise within its 5,000-square-foot home at 30 Kihei Halawai Drive, space A-3, beginning at 6 tonight.
A blessing, Hawaiian entertainment and additional activities will introduce the Harley Davidson rental business to its new neighborhood, after a move from Lahaina, said Managing Director Richard Krajchir, a co-owner.
The EagleRider franchise is one of two Krajchir operates with President Grant McCullough. The other, opened in 2010, is in Kihei at the Kamaole Shopping Center. Parent company Aloha Motorsports rents scooters and sells and services other internal-combustion-powered two- and three-wheelers.
"When tourists come to Maui … we want to convey the aloha spirit," Krajchir said. "We deal heavily with activities centers throughout the islands."
For kamaaina, in addition to sales and service operations, "we have a safety check station," McCullough said.
The new operation was initially opened by California-based EagleRider Inc. in 2008 in Lahaina, but it was purchased by Aloha Motorsports about four months ago. Krajchir and McCullough plan to expand with two additional locations slated for the next year and a half, first in Lahaina and then near Kahului Airport.
Krajchir also owns and operates Pacific Orient Traders in Gentry Pacific Design Center in Honolulu and splits his time between Oahu and the Valley Isle.
EagleRider also has operations at 818 Iwilei Road run by franchisee Alfred Montgomery.
