Suspect in Waikiki extortion case granted bail

A federal judge confirmed bail this morning for Jesse Yoshino, one of three men accused of extortion involving The Shack Waikiki.

However, U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright tightened up some of the restrictions of Yoshino’s release after viewing a video the government says shows the 30-year-old Yoshino carrying out an unprovoked attack on one of the original owners of the Waikiki restaurant last November.

Yoshino denies that’s him in the video.

His bail is $200,000.

The other two defendants, Curtis Swanson and Tory Winward, remain in custody pending trial without the opportunity for bail.
