» Stanford defensive end Matt Masifilo (Campbell ’07) had four tackles in a 45-16 win over UCLA on Saturday. Defensive tackle Sealii Epenesa (‘Iolani ’10) made three solo tackles for the Bruins in the loss.
» Idaho linebacker Conrad Scheidt (Kamehameha ’09) recorded seven tackles and forced a fumble in a 21-20 overtime loss to Virginia on Saturday. Running back Kama Bailey (Damien ’08) rushed for 20 yards and had a 17-yard reception for the Vandals.
» Notre Dame junior Manti Te’o (Punahou ’09) made eight solo tackles, including three for loss, and a sack in a 38-10 win over Purdue on Saturday.
» New Mexico State linebacker B.J. Adolpho (Kahuku ’05) had nine tackles and defensive end David Niumataloto (Kahuku ’05) had five tackles and a sack in a 42-28 win over New Mexico on Saturday.
» Oregon State linebacker Feti Unga (Kahuku ’06) made seven tackles, and Mana Rosa (Baldwin ’09) and Castro Masaniai (Waipahu ’07) each had a solo tackle for the Beavers in a 35-20 loss to Arizona State on Saturday.
» Weber State quarterback Mike Hoke (Kamehameha ’08) finished 21-for-32 for 235 yards and three total touchdowns in a 27-21 loss to Eastern Washington on Saturday. Hoke scored on two 1-yard runs and receiver Shaydon Kehano (Castle ’10) had four receptions for 91 yards. Kela Marciel (‘Iolani ’09) made five tackles and Veteson Sanui (Kahuku ’10) added four for the Wildcats.
» Puget Sound quarterback George Ka‘ai (Kamehameha ’08) finished 26-for-48 for 326 yards and a touchdown and linebacker Cody Petro-Sakuma (‘Iolani ’11) had 12 tackles, including one for loss, in a 21-7 loss to Pacific Lutheran on Saturday. Starting free safety Sean McFadden (Punahou ’10) assisted on two tackles for the Lutes.
» Pacific (Ore.) sophomore T.C. Campbell (Kamehameha ’10) finished 22-for-36 for 280 yards and three touchdowns and backup P.J. Minaya (Hanalani ’10) was 5-for-9 for 48 yards and a touchdown in a 61-35 loss to Lewis & Clark on Saturday. Running back Sean Valente (Saint Louis ’10) had nine carries for 41 yards while Jordan Fukumoto (Saint Louis ’10) tied for a team-high with six catches for 62 yards and three touchdowns. Kelson Kawai (Kohala ’10) had five receptions for 115 yards and Cameron Yip (Kamehameha-Maui ’10) had five catches for 57 yards. Chaz Bajet (Kamehameha ’10) had six tackles and a pass breakup and Brandon Abiva (Aiea ’11) and Marc Moody (Saint Louis ’07) each had a sack for the Boxers.
» Linfield (Ore.) senior Brent Shimabukuro (Saint Louis ’08) had five tackles, including one for loss, and a forced fumble and cornerback Nate Dixon (Kapolei ’08) added two tackles in a 20-10 win over Willamette on Saturday.
» Occidental kicker Joshua Mun (Mid-Pacific ’08) converted all four extra-point attempts and hit a 34-yard field goal in a 31-17 win over Whittier on Saturday. Casey Shibuya (Punahou ’09) assisted on two tackles for the Tigers while Chad Wakabayashi (Punahou ’11) made a solo tackle for the Poets.
» Chapman receiver Kali‘i Kunitomo (Konawaena ’09) had two catches for 89 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown, in a 45-35 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday. Junior Travis Muraoka (‘Iolani ’09) had two catches for 15 yards for the Sagehens.
» Cornell (Iowa) College linebacker Geoffrey Miller (Punahou ’10) led his team with seven tackles, including one for loss, in a 28-0 loss to Wartburg College on Saturday.

» Hofstra junior Kylee Maneja (Sacred Hearts ’09) was named the Colonial Athletic Association defensive player of the week on Monday. Maneja recorded 38 digs in two league matches, including a match-high 24 in a three-set win over Delaware, moving her into ninth place on the school’s all-time list with 1,312.
» Lewis & Clark junior Leia Matsunaga (Kamehameha ’09) finished with a match-high 48 assists, eight digs and an ace in a four-set loss to Willamette on Saturday.
» Fordham middle blocker Carina Thompson (Punahou ’10) had 29 kills and 12 blocks in three matches to help the Rams go 2-1 last week.
» Western Oregon setter LesLyne Satele (Punahou ’11) had a match-high 37 assists and six digs in a three-set sweep of Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
» Manhattanville senior Makana Gomes (‘Iolani ’08) led the team with six kills and tied for a match-high 13 digs in a three-set loss to Eastern University on Tuesday.
» Texas Pan-American freshman Krysta Freitas (Hanalani ’11) had seven digs, five kills, three block assists and two assists and junior Juri Franzen (McKinley ’09) added 15 digs, two assists and an ace in a five-set win over Prairie View A&M on Monday.
» New Haven freshman Kaulana Ane (Kamehameha-Maui ’11) finished with nine digs, four kills and an ace in a three-set sweep of Assumption College on Tuesday.
» Clark (Mass.) University junior Marissa Byrns (Punahou ’09) combined for 19 digs and an ace in losses to Rhode Island College and Westfield State on Saturday.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
» For the second year in a row, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps junior Kristin Lim (Punahou ’09) won both the singles and doubles titles at the USTA/ITA West Regional Championships on Monday. Lim will try to defend her singles title at the National Small College Championships in Mobile, Ala., Oct. 13-16.
» Pacific (Ore.) senior Cat Goya (St. Andrew’s ’08) and junior Rachel Mizuno (Mililani ’09) advanced into the later rounds, individually and as a doubles tandem, at the 2011 USTA/ITA Pacific Northwest Collegiate Regional Championships that ended on Monday. Goya reached the quarterfinals in singles, while Mizuno advanced to the third round. In doubles, the two advanced to the third round before bowing out. Sophomore Kelsey Trujillo (Sacred Hearts ’10) was the only other Boxer to advance out of the first round in singles, upsetting the No. 4 seed.

» Seattle U. freshman Kimberly Pugliese (Mililani ’11) ran unattached at the Emerald City Open on Saturday, finishing in ninth place in 24:01. Teammate Sophie Curatilo (Moanalua ’11) finished in 12th place in 25:22.
» Nevada junior Nicole Painter (Mililani ’09) placed 14th with a time of 19:27 at the UNLV Desert Invitational on Saturday.
» Lipscomb sophomore Ali Keith (Mililani ’10) ran her first meet of the season, finishing in 62nd place with a time of 20:42.63 in the women’s 5k silver race at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.
‘Iolani’s Remiticado to be enshrined in Pacific Hall of Fame
Jill Remiticado, a 1999 ‘Iolani graduate, is one of four inductees who will be enshrined in the Pacific University Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 15.
Remiticado was Pacific’s first female wrestler and the driving force behind the creation of the school’s women’s varsity program in 2001. Remiticado was a three-time United States Girls’ Wrestling Association collegiate national champion at 121 pounds and a four-time All-American. She placed fifth in 2001 and ’02 in the 55-kilogram division at the U.S. World Team Trials, and was a finalist for the 2003 Ad Rutschman Award, given to the top small-college athlete in Oregon every year. Remiticado wrestled for the boys team at ‘Iolani until the HHSAA held the first state girls championship in 1998. She won the first 114-pound state title.

Oregon’s Isagawa tied for tournament lead
SAMMAMISH, Wash. » Oregon freshman Cassy Isagawa (Baldwin ’11) shot a 1-under 71 and is tied for first place at 143 heading into today’s final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. Washington freshman Cyd Okino (Punahou ’11) is eight shots back in a tie for 11th place at 72-79—151, and Gonzaga freshman Alice Kim (University ’11) is in 40th place at 14 over.
» Tulsa junior Kristina Merkle (Moanalua ’09) shot a final-round, 2-over 74 to finish in a tie for fourth place at the Windy City Collegiate Championship on Tuesday. Merkle finished even par for the tournament, two shots back of first.
