Gov. Neil Abercrombie got a chance to see the changes being made at Hawaii’s largest public housing project on Wednesday.

Abercrombie visited with residents and toured newly renovated units at the Towers of Kuhio Park, formerly known as Kuhio Park Terrace.

The complex is undergoing $135 million renovation. So far, over 100 residents have returned to units that have been completed in one of its two high-rise towers.

The work is being done under a partnership between the Hawaii Public Housing Authority and a private developer.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2013.
