“A Prairie Home Companion” returning to Honolulu


National Public Radio’s long-running "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show starring Garrison Keillor, will return to Honolulu for performances on New Year’s Eve that will be nationally broadcast.

The performances from Blaisdell Concert Hall will begin at 12:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Dec. 31.

The two shows will be different, as the first show will be the regular two-hour live broadcast, while the second show will be titled "A Prairie Home Companion’s Hawaiian New Year’s Eve with Garrison Keillor." Both will feature yet-to-be-announced Hawaii performers.

Tickets will first become available to Hawaii Public Radio members from Nov. 1 to Nov. 18, followed by ticket sales to the general public beginning Nov. 19. Tickets range from $35 to $65 with applicable fees.
