Man arrested in brush fire investigation is released
A man arrested in connection with a brush fire on the slopes of Koko Crater has been released pending further investigation.
A 29-year-old man from Waialae Iki was arrested on suspicion of first-degree arson after the fire temporarily trapped six people on top of a trail. Several hikers had to be taken down by a police helicopter.
The man was released 5 p.m. Sunday. No charges have been filed against him.
No homes were damaged in the blaze.
