Hawaii's Royce Pollard cuts downfield enroute to a touchdown during first-half action of a college football game between the Hawaii Warriors and the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

Given recent history, University of Hawaii football coach Greg McMackin said he expects another in a series of "tough battles" when the Warriors play at San Jose State Friday.

None of the last five meetings at San Jose have been decided  by more than a touchdown and the two most recent trips, 2009 and ’07, both went to overtime.

"We’ve always won over there but they have been just battles," McMackin said on a Western Athletic Conference coaches teleconference this morning.

UH has won four in a row at Spartan Stadium.

UH (3-2) is a 6 1/2-point favorite over the 2-4 Spartans in a game to be shown on ESPN.
