    Prosecutors charged Peter David

A Waipahu man who said he killed his cousin in self-defense after a night of New Year’s celebration drinking has been found guilty of manslaughter.

Peter David, 29, was facing second-degree murder charges, but a Circuit Court jury found him guilty this afternoon of the lesser offense in the Jan. 2 stabbing death of 27-year-old Santhony Albert.

David faces a maximum 20-year prison term when he is sentenced in January.
