The Honolulu Fire Department’s latest class of recruits graduated Friday.

The Fire Department says the 50 recruits have completed 27 weeks of training in firefighting, rescue procedures, emergency medical service and hazardous materials response.

They also organized and participated in a blood drive as a community service event.

Chief Kenneth Silva and Mayor Peter Carlisle spoke at Friday’s graduation ceremony.

The recruits are scheduled to report to their new assignments next week.
