Police arrested a 30-year-old man caught on video allegedly attempting to steal a mo-ped from a Waikiki apartment complex.

According to police, the owner of the mo-ped noticed that an attempt had been made to steal his mo-ped Saturday and reported the incident to his building manager. Later, the mo-ped was found moved to a remote area of the building’s parking lot.

The building’s surveillance camera caught the alleged thief on video.

Later, the victim’s girlfriend, who had seen the surveillance video, spotted the suspect in the area again and called police. The suspect was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft.
