A fire destroyed a single-family house in Kapaau in North Kohala Monday, but there were no injuries, Hawaii County fire officlals said.
The house at 54-0394 Union Mill Road was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 7:13 a.m., fire officials said. The fire was reported at 6:59 a.m.
Hawaii County fire officials said all occupants escaped safely and met at a predesignated meeting place.
The cause is under investigation. The blaze caused $250,000 in damage to the home.
