Hawaiian Airlines' first pilot, "Captain Sam" Elliott, aboard one of the company's first aircraft, a Sikorsky S-38 amphibious biplane, delivers newspapers to a neighbor island. Hawaiian began mail service in Hawaii on Oct. 8, 1934.
