Bagged salad products possibly contaminated with E. coli that were shipped to Hawaii Safeway stores from a California company have been removed from store shelves, the state Department of Health said Friday.
There have been no reports of illness related to the recalled product, the department said.
Consumers are urged to check whether they bought the recalled items, which have a use-by date of Nov. 18, 2011, printed in the upper left corner of the back of Ready Pac Foods Inc. packages containing romaine lettuce.
To receive a full refund for any recalled products, record the use-by date and UPC number on the bag and contact the Ready Pac consumer affairs representative at 800-800-7822 weekdays from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hawaii time. For more information, call the department’s Health Food and Drug Branch at 586-4725.
