Female bar patron kicks officer
A 45-year-old woman was arrested Thursday morning after she kicked an officer who escorted her out of a karaoke bar on Keeaumoku Street, police said.
Officers responded to an argument at the bar at about 5:30 a.m. and brought out the intoxicated woman as she continued to swear at the bar’s manager, police said. While the woman was seated on a chair outside the entrance, she swore and kicked an officer, police said. She was arrested for investigation of harassment of a police officer.
Crew escorts duo from forest
Firefighters helped two women Thursday after they got lost while hiking on a trail behind Brigham Young University.
The women took a one-hour walk to a waterfall but called for help shortly after 7 p.m. after losing their way heading back, said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
A fire helicopter was launched to help firefighters spot the women, but the forest canopy was too dense for them to be seen from the air. Rescue specialists hiked in and were able to find the women. Seelig said they led the women out of the forest at about 9 p.m. No one was hurt.
