Hawaii will host first two rounds in NCAA volleyball tournament
For the first time since 2003, Hawaii will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament, it was announced today.
The Rainbow Wahine (29-1) were seeded No. 10 overall. No. 2 seed Nebraska is also in the Honolulu regional, as well as No. 7 USC and No. 15 Pepperdine.
Hawaii will play Northern Colorado (22-8) in the second match Thursday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
In the first match, Oregon (21-9) plays Colorado State (23-5).
The Honolulu regional has nine conference champions in seeded Nebraska (Big Ten), USC (Pac-12), Hawaii (WAC) and Pepperdine (West Coast) The unseeded champions are Northern Colorado (Big Sky). Colorado State (Mountain West); Tulsa (Conference USA; Jackson State (Southestern Athletic) and Yale (Ivy).
