Maui police officer charged with abuse of wife
A Maui police officer was arrested and charged with domestic abuse of his wife.
Christopher P. Kealoha, 28, a five-year veteran of the police force, is scheduled to appear in Family Court on Dec. 20 on the misdemeanor charge of abuse of household member, following his arrest at his residence in Haiku on Nov. 24.
Police said his wife did not have life-threatening injuries, and Kealoha who posted $1,000 bail was on leave from work.
The case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office.
