Waianae affordable-housing site reaches capacity

Just three months after opening and accepting applicants, an affordable-housing complex on Oahu’s Leeward Coast has reached maximum capacity.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Sea Winds Apartments is in Waianae, a community that has one of the largest concentrations of homeless people on the island.

Housing Solutions, Inc. said Monday that Sea Winds is at 100 percent capacity. The project includes 30 long-term townhomes and a village of 20 transitional studios. In August, the first residents moved in.
