"CINDERELLA" OPENS AT DHT | 1. Cast members Lisa Konove (Stepmother), left, Daniel James Kunkle (King), Kiara Lily Reeves (Fairy), Kathryn Mariko Lee (Portia) and Anemone Jones (Cinderella) celebrated the opening night of Diamond Head Theatre's revival of "Cinderella" Dec. 2 at the post-show party at town in Kaimuki. This is Konove's third time playing the nasty stepmother at DHT, and Kunkle's second time as the comical king. Reeves, the youngest member of the cast, is making her theatrical debut, stepping out from the children's ensemble for a showcase number as the smallest of four magical fairies.

ISAAK ROCKS BLAISDELL | 5. Retro-rocker Chris Isaak clowned backstage with his opening act, ukulele shredder Taimane Gardner, before he took the stage for a superb two-hour concert Nov. 30 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. The hard-rocking, highly visual show lived up to expectations in all respects. Gardner showed her strength as a young concert act with her performance.

4. Nina Weber, center, enjoyed dessert in the sponsors' tent with Bernadette and Joe Gruzinsky during the first intermission. Nina and Bernadette held battery-powered souvenir "magic wands" sold during the first intermission for use by audience members of all ages during a "magic moment" later in the show.

3. Ever-stylish Bev Noa talked with veteran actor Gerald Altweis at the reception. Altweis was there to take his granddaughter, Ava Isabelle Altweis, to see live theater for the first time. Noa was there to support her granddaughter, cast member Celia Kenney, who was performing as a member of the adult ensemble.

2. DHT artistic director John Rampage, left, director and choreographer of the show, welcomed Qi Marie and executive producer John Michael White to the sponsors' reception outside the theater. It was going to be a long day and a short night for Rampage. After spending the week in final rehearsals for "Cinderella," he had a 7 a.m. rehearsal with the DHT Shooting Stars scheduled for the next morning.
