Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Terry Seelig pointed out the spot in Palolo Stream under St. Louis Drive where a man was found Wednesday. The victim, who apparently fell into the culvert from the bridge, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Kalihi victim stabbed outside his home
Wednesday for a man who stabbed a 22-year-old man in Kalihi at about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the victim intervened in an argument outside his home when one of the parties in the argument took out a knife and stabbed the victim, who had tried to run away after seeing the knife.
Paramedics took the 22-year-old man to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
Police said the assailant left the area. Police did not release a description of the attacker.
Man found hurt on Palolo Stream concrete
A man was admitted to a hospital in critical condition Wednesday after he apparently fell about 14 feet into a concrete portion of Palolo Stream near City Mill in Kaimuki.
Firefighters found the man at 8:38 a.m. face-down and unresponsive at the bottom of the concrete drainage canal beneath St. Louis Drive just mauka of Waialae Avenue, Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.
Paramedics treated the man in the canal, and firefighters raised him to street level. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Seelig said the man’s friend told firefighters that he woke up about 8 a.m. and saw his friend in the canal.
