Fire crews aid 2 kayakers in distress off Sand Island
Honolulu firefighters are responding to a call for aid from two men on a tandem kayak who got into trouble in waters about three-fourths of a mile off Sand Island Park this afternoon.
The call for kayakers-in-distress was received about 2:35 p.m.
The kayakers have been spotted, and fire-rescue crews are determining how best to retrieve them, said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
